About me

I’m a software engineer drawn to the craft of engineering: software that is fast, correct, and a pleasure to use. Tools like Ruff and Linear are the standard I look up to. I’m not there yet, but that level of polish is what I’m working toward.

Most of my interests sit where backends, networks, and browsers meet. I enjoy databases and systems programming in Rust and Zig (I’m still learning both). I also like performance work such as caching, pooling, and batching, as well as developer tooling and observability. I’m also curious about the other side of the web: fingerprinting, privacy, syntax trees, de-obfuscation, and virtual machines. I care about design too, and I’m working on getting better at interfaces.

I contribute to open source projects, both to give back and to learn how well-made software gets built.

Outside of work I play chess, mostly for the same reason I like coding: the satisfaction of solving a hard problem.
